Norway

The neighbouring country Norway got a visit from my whole family when I was almost two years old. My mom Annika, my sisters Linda, Åsa and Sandra and me were travelling in a blue van while my dad Björn and his friend Torsten went by motorcycles. I have some vague memories from the trip which lasted for three days and I remember it as an exciting trip where we slept in the van and were driving north of Oslo in the rural Norway. My mom remembers it as a horrible trip where us kids were going nuts in the van and we refused to wear seatbelts and opened the door on the passenger side while she was driving. She was scared that we would fall out of the van and she just wanted to go home again and she thought about taking the boat from Oslo to Copenhagen in Denmark to get us almost back home to Helsingborg in Sweden where we lived. This never happened but one year later when my dad's birthday was coming up we went on the ferry but in the opposite direction first, from Copenhage

Netherlands

Even the statues seem high and wasted in the Netherlands so it's obvious what the country is famous for. Legal drugs and prostitution is the gimmick for this picturesque city by the canals and I love countries that can be defined and isn't just a bleak version of something else, even if it is for such dark stuff as in the Netherlands. It had always been a dream to go to Amsterdam and two years ago me and my girlfriend Felicia went there to celebrate my birthday. Since I'm a sucker for statues we started off at Museumplein and worked ourselves into the city center and you can tell right away that the legal sins make a creative city. It's also a city of cyclists on speed so you need to beware of hundreds of bikes going in every direction at full speed ahead. I prefer to walk slowly in my traditional Dutch clogs instead. The canals and the narrow houses makes the view amazing wherever you go and we went to enjoy the scenery and not the drugs in the cof

Montenegro

Since Montenegro is one of those places that are hard to reach with flights with reasonable prices from Sweden, I was thinking of doing a road trip instead from Macedonia via Kosovo and Albania. My friend Lisa who had been living in Macedonia told me to go to the coast of Montenegro where she had been and not to the boring capital called Podgorica. When I googled the map of Montenegro I saw a small village called Ulcinj near the border of Albania on the coast. The next step was to search for images of Ulcinj and boom I was sold, Ulcinj was definitely the place to go to in Montenegro. The water was crystal clear blue and the old castle by the sea looked amazing as the contrast. It had everything I look for in a destination. To make it even more appealing I found the perfect hotel called Continental which almost literally was placed on the beach with the fantastic sea view from the balcony of the room. The road trip with my friend Michael to get to Ulcinj wasn't the easiest one, wi

Monaco

If you don't count the Vatican then Monaco is the world's smallest country and it's actually just a small part of the French riviera that has become its own country, so that the rich people can go somewhere to avoid taxes.  Me and my friend Andreas came by train from the shitty place Marseille in France, and we would only stay in Monaco for one night since it was so expensive to stay there. We even had to stay in an apartment hotel just outside the border of Monaco to be able to afford it, but it's not like you notice any borders anyway. Monaco is more of a city than a country and you can walk wherever you want to go, except to the Exotic Garden I guess. My first suggestion to Andreas was to go to the garden and we tried to find our way through the maze of all narrow streets and steep hills. We got lost and could see that we were a mountain down from the garden and we asked a rich guy walking by if he knew how to get up to it. He showed us the somewhat hidden
